Explore our world

Knowledge matters.
What we do with it
changes everything.

Great ideas can begin anywhere: in a classroom, on a farm, around a workshop table. World Education Foundation brings these worlds together, connecting academic knowledge with the experience and ingenuity of local communities.

Founded by Marques Anderson in 2010, WE creates opportunities to learn through doing. Our work brings people across disciplines and borders into a shared process of listening, designing and putting ideas into practice.

Every life
holds knowledge.

Portraits, shared moments and everyday journeys. The Foundation’s exhibition photographs invite us to pause, look closer and listen to the stories around us.

A CHAIN OF LOCAL POSSIBILITY

From the land.
To livelihoods.
To health.

In DR Congo, connecting local quinine producers with manufacturing in Bukavu linked agricultural knowledge to malaria-treatment production.

05 THE WE APPROACH

Start by listening.
Learn by doing.

The people closest to a challenge bring essential knowledge. WE:SOLVE brings that knowledge into a practical, collaborative design process.

01 / LISTEN

Begin with people.

Listen to local experience. Ask questions, build trust and understand what matters in daily life.

02 / CONNECT

Learn together.

Bring community knowledge into conversation with learners, practitioners and researchers across disciplines.

03 / MAKE

Give ideas form.

Turn shared questions into sketches, prototypes and practical possibilities that people can explore.

04 / EVOLVE

Test. Reflect. Share.

Learn from what happens, adapt to the setting and carry useful knowledge into the next conversation.

Every person brings
a piece of the possibility.

The foundation grew from Marques Anderson’s journey from professional sport into global learning and community development. That journey became a question at the heart of WE: how can people with different experiences learn from one another and build something useful together?

The foundation’s American football archive records clinics across nine countries from 2010 to 2014, connecting Marques’s experience in professional sport with opportunities for young people.

Across the work, the commitment is the same: respect local knowledge, connect people across borders and create space for practical learning.

THE NEXT CHAPTER IS SHARED.

What could we
learn together?

For educators, practitioners and people who believe that knowledge grows when it is shared.
